Nikkah/Marriage Services
When a Muslim has decided to get married, we can arrange to perform the ceremony at the ICA. Please contact us to schedule your nikkah.
In Islam, a Nikah (marriage ceremony) is a covenant with God to honor, respect, care for and love your spouse; it is a legally binding contract.
Prerequisites for marriage services at ICA:
Pre-marriage consulting session for would-be couples.
Marriage license from Alameda County (preferred).
Two witnesses and a Wali (guardian) for the bride.
The Mahr to the bride from the groom (with the consultation and approval of the bride) is to be recorded on the certificate of Mahr.
IDs of both bride and groom.
Nikkah service fees.
ICA provides:
Nikkah Certificate
Mahr Certificate
Signed marriage certificate by a person licensed to perform the nikah.
