Monthly Food 4 Needy

Every month, Islamic Center of Alameda dedicates to the noble concept of Sadaqah and its profound impact on alleviating hunger and poverty within our communities. At its core, Sadaqah represents a selfless act of charity, embodying the teachings of Islam to care for the less fortunate.

Every 3rd Saturday, we meet at Casa Maria Taqueria (a Halal restaurant) around 10 am where we cook and prepare burritos and pack 100+ meals. We then distribute the meals at various homeless camps in Alameda, Oakland, and surrounding areas.

The goal of this monthly effort is to feed those who are in need, in poverty or are homeless and fulfilling our right as Muslims to help the needy in our community.

Join us on this spiritual journey as we explore the significance of Sadaqah in Islam and how it can transform lives through food for the needy.
